Okay. If any of you play Monopoly you will get this........I OWN "Water Works" It is mine, permanently, just take the card out of your games, cross out the square on the board, you may no longer buy or sell it-----IT IS MINE.
So SERIOUSLY....I have been crying now at least once a day for the last seven days. It is starting to become a team joke.......and, "que Water Works".
I was out stomping through knee deep snow, trying to run, crying my eyes out this morning and talking to God and it finally sunk in, I have known it for some time now but it has taken a trip to Russia to bring it clearly into focus...I care entirely too much what people think of me. Of course the root of it is MY PRIDE. It inhibits my service, screws up my focus on Christ, darkens my mood, snatches my sleep, muddies up my worship. I'm done with it I hope. Slavaboguh
Thank you God for good Daddy's. I squatted down, in the snow, at one point during my run this morning, crying my eyes out, talking to my ultimate father and I thanked Him for my dad. A dad loves his children warts and all and I have an awesome daddy down here and up in heaven. Hey mom and dad if you read this......Man I love you guys and miss you. Mom I have needed you so many times this week. God knew it and he sent papa Laddy (Larry) along on this mission. Rebecca your dad is just as awesome as mine and I will be borrowing him for the next 2 weeks, God willing if I can get the flood under control he and everyone else on this little adventure will be returned stateside DRY. Your dad is always smiling and he makes me laugh out loud. So many funny moments, I'll let him share the details - but it has been a pleasure getting to know him. For those of you who do not know Laddy---He loves his family as much as my dad loves mine. Laddy's grandchildren are the absolute apples of his eye he talks about them just as much as my dad does Conor, Sid & Mike. Oh, and dad, I found out today he rides a harley and has a black corvette - which totally makes him just about a cool as you!
Okay so I am gonna save this one and introduce you in the next to some of my new Russian Friends:
Agreed I do have the best/coolest/awesome dad (& mom). Best of all they LOVE the Lord and desire to serve Him! We miss dad/papa a lot and can't wait for him to get back!
ReplyDeleteМы скучаем по тебе и люблю тебя папа
All of us :)
Hey Jen...if you really want a laugh, ask Ladddddy, or even better Rader, why Mr. Larry is called the "Silver Surfer". I know you are tired just from reading your blog, but you are doing great things through Christ!!!! while you are over there, and I truly believe you are making a difference just by serving and hugging and being who God made you. Love, Judy
ReplyDeleteJen, I talked to your mom and dad today and told them where to find the blog so I am sure they have read this by now! We all love you and are in awe while we watch what the Lord is doing with you and the team!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear the rest- keep blogging!
